Meet Coach Phil Jones

Phil is a retired chemical industry professional, with a passion for endurance sports.  He is a certified USAT Triathlon Coach and an accomplished age-group athlete.

Like many athletes, Phil began his endurance sports journey later in life, when he chose to take control of his health.  The journey started with running and quickly progressed to triathlon.  Recently his love of endurance events, has expanded to include ultrarunning and SwimRun.

Phil has completed numerous marathon races, including the Boston Marathon.  He is a multiple Ironman and Ironman 70.3 finisher. A regular age-group winner in local Sprint and Olympic distance triathlon races, Phil is also an Ironman 70.3 World Championship qualifier.

The sharing of his endurance sports knowledge and experiences is the drive behind Phil’s coaching. As a triathlon coach, he places a huge emphasis on building meaningful relationships with his athletes. Regular communication is key to achieving this.

“It is only through getting to know and partnering with my athletes, that I can build custom training plans, to fit within their lifestyle and to help them reach their goals”.

Phil originates from England but now lives in Littleton, Colorado, with his wife, Sarah.  They have two adult children. Outside of endurance sports, Phil and his wife love to travel and explore the outdoors.

Phil writes a blog about his own endurance sports journey. The blog can be found on his personal website – philjonestriathlon.com
